Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay. Suppose you have two options upon graduation: One is to take a job in a company and the other to go to a graduate school. You are to make a choice between the two. Write an essay to explain the reasons for your choice. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

       该作文是一篇议论文。假设在大学毕业之际，面对就业和读研你会如何选，并阐述原 因。建议考生紧跟题目要求，可以列“三段式”提纲，或者根据提出问题、分析问题和解决问题三个部分进行写作。首先第一段先开门见山写出面临的两种选择，然后在第二段说明自己做出的选择，并阐明选择的原因。这一段为文章的主体部分，考生需要清晰地阐明做出选择的原因，最后在第三段总结，可以对所做的选择进行评价，或对自己的将来寄予厚望。

2.图画写作

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then comment on this kind of modern life. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

      该作文话题是“现代生活”，涉及一种不良的生活习惯，属于现象分析题。话题通过漫画形式呈现出来，考生应注意在第一段中首先要用简洁的语言描述漫画内容，并提出观点，然后在第二段分析该现象给人们造成的影响，最后在第三段提出自己的看法和建议。 行文中，考生的重点应放在第二段的现象分析上，分析必须有理有据，两到三点即可。在第三段考生应提出自己的看法和建议，注意不要重复第二段的内容，应在更高的层面上总结主题。

Topic:  Suppose you have two options upon graduation: One is to take a job in a company and the other to go to a graduate school.

        Nowadays in China there are usually two common ways for graduates to choose upon graduation. One is to take a job in a company and the other is to go to a graduate school. Different graduates may make different choices. 

        As far as I’m concerned, I prefer to continue with higher education and go to a graduate school. To begin with, I could further my study and learn more if I go to a graduate school. Also, I could be equipped with broader knowledge and advanced technology in specialized fields. Besides, I could achieve a higher degree which is helpful for me to find a better job in the competitive job market. What’s more, I could have more chance to think about my future and become mature enough to face and deal with possible challenges in society. 

        As we all know, knowledge is infinite. I’d like to enjoy myself in the sea of knowledge and apply what I could learn to serve the society. Therefore, going to a graduate school is my best choice.

2. 图画写作

This Modern Life

        As the picture depicts, a man is using his computer day and night, even in his dream. This drawing directly reveals a common phenomenon that computers have penetrated into our daily life and we are relying too much on it. There is no denying that computers and the Internet draw the whole world closer and provide us with a convenient and comfortable life. Nevertheless, computers are not indispensable in every aspect of our life.

        Computers offer great convenience, but we cannot turn a blind eye to their negative impacts. To start with, excessive addiction to computers may do harm to our health, depriving us of our time to work out. Moreover, drowning in computers keeps us away from our families and friends. Some people talk with friends online while ignoring those around them. And, we must admit that the more we rely on computers, the less drive we have to acquire new skills, like calculation and memory. 

        Indeed, computers really promote our life as the product of advanced technology, but we shouldn’t put computers before everything else in our real life.
